The Gem among Rocks :)
Charlie Don't Surf
15011 Marine Drive White Rock.
Food Quality: 4
Price: Between expensive and fair
White Rock is one of many places in Greater Vancouver. It's a beautiful little town right by the ocean. Along this oceanside is a strip of restaurants and shops that make this place unique. You won't find a Mc.Donald or 7-11 here, well at least not along the beach.
1. the number of people in the acutal restaurant (tells you it's good)
2. the size of the place compare to other restaurant.
3. Lastly the decor is very vintage and very relaxed feel
This would be the patio view of the restaurant, it's simply beautiful on a sunny day. Sorry to the couple in the picture, didn't mean to include them, but they were just there.
The food is great, actually this would be my 2nd time at this place.
This time I went, we ordered the clam pot in white wine and seafood bouillabaisse. The clam pot was good, a little heavy on the wine. The bouillabaisse is one of the best I ever had. I gotta say, the soup part of the bouillabaisse was simply amazing. Unfortunately they didn't offer bread to dip, however when we asked they went back and brought us Warmed bread. How nice and considerate of them and they didn't charge us either. I would definitely recommend this dish.
The price of this place is fair during lunch, they have their special and regular entries at about average $11 dollars, but obviously seafood is more expensive. The clam pot was $17 and the bouillabaisse was $18 (but definitely worth it).
All in all, a nice place for lunch right by the ocean. This restaurant comes with excellent service, great food, and not to mention a great view.
